A mechanic's son with the heart of a stunt driver, D-Man's skills behind the wheel are legendary. Growing up in Milford, Massachusetts, D-Man spent most of his time helping out in his father's body shop, and gained a high level of appreciation for cars of all varieties.
In high school, D-Man befriended Dan Beadle, a student who had a similar sense of humor to his own. Most afternoons, the boys spent their time playing video games and reading comic books. The duo would later go to on to UMass, where D-Man roomed with Jake Alberts.
It was during this time that D-Man would take on a number of driving jobs to pay for his education. He even taught himself the ins and outs of car boosting, which he used to take joyrides in cars he couldn't afford.
As the Running on Empty crew split up at the end of their college years, D-Man went into underground street racing. After a few brushes with the law, he decided to cut back on his illicit hobby, and returned to Milford to work with his father. But when life became obscenely dull, D-Man reconnected with Dan, and re-formed the crew.
Unlike Dan or Jake, D-Man is successful with women. However, such relationships are of secondary importance to cars.
