Born into the lowest class of American society, Frank Simmons was volunteered by his parents in the Junior Enlistment Program of the United States Marine Corps. The JEP trained children as young as age seven for eventual deployment in the ongoing Terror War.
Throughout his eleven-year military training, Simmons had difficulty aligning his own goals with that of the United States government. Many of his supervisors observed that he did not have a “military mind.” To remedy this, Simmons was introduced to the concept of Christianity, in an effort to convince him that the United States, and by extension, its military, was the instrument of a higher power.
Soon thereafter, Simmons became fixated with the concept of Armageddon, envisioning war as a symbol of salvation. But as years passed into decades, and the Terror War continued without end, Simmons lost his faith that God would take a hand in human affairs. And with this thunderclap of realization, Simmons took matters into his own hands, and defected from his status as a soldier of the US Marine Corps to become a soldier of Armageddon. As such, he is committed to the extermination of the entire human race. His actions invariably lead to global nuclear war.
Dylan Thorne, who refers to Simmons as “The Annihilator,” secretly monitors his activities. Thorne’s role in Simmons’ life remains unknown.
